Stocking stuffers

If you are anything like me, you still haven’t purchased holiday gifts for most folks on your list. Moreover, I tend to have a problem buying occasional gifts for women. If you’re a woman with the opposite problem—buying gifts for guys—the following gift ideas are just for you, though I can’t imagine gals not liking them, too (perhaps that’s my problem!). And, no, ahem, this isn’t my personal gift list. I mean, what do you get for the divagator that has it all?

Lexar JumpDrive Lightning
Many corporations now issue portable flash drives to their employees as if they were ID cards. They’re that cheap, and they’re awfully convenient. With that in mind, Lexar developed the Lightning, which is an up-market drive that will be able to store more data than most cheap alternatives. And it’s very fancy to boot. The Lightning comes in 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB versions, and for folks not looking to spend that much money, Lexar also has a range of drives at cheaper prices.

Colibri of London Manhattan Flask
Colibri is most often associated with cigarette lighters, having produced them since 1927, but also makes some fine flasks. I’m partial to the super-slim Manhattan model, though if 3oz. mightn’t be enough, there are a range of other models.

Bose® In-Ear Headphones
Bose is a well-respected name in audio, and they have finally designed and developed ear bud-like headphones. Some reviewers have not been impressed with them, and obviously, there are a range of brands offering much the same product, but with Bose, at least you know the sound quality will be great.

Magellan eXplorist GPS Unit
Not being an outdoorsman, a GPS locator has absolutely no practical value for me, but if you’re shopping for hunters, hikers, skiers, etc., or just someone who is directionally-challenged, this could come in handy. If nothing else, it might be neat to futz around with. Again, Magellan makes several models, starting around $100.

Cabela’s Buffalo Sticks
What guy doesn’t like jerky? Okay, probably a lot, but these buffalo sticks from Cabela’s would certainly be something different. Cabela’s also sells traditional beef jerky, elk jerky, and venison jerky, packaged in one-pound bags. If he doesn’t like it, well, at least you learned something this Christmas.

Throw in some good music, and that should just about cover it. Electronic gadgets, liquor, jerky, and music…sounds like a pretty good stocking to me.
