Now-and-then music
I take a look at some interesting music from 1996, 1981, and 1956, including Emmylou Harris’ Cimarron, Gillian Welch’s Revival, and the Modern Jazz Quartet’s Fontessa.
Making whoopee
THE DIVAGATOR explores bachelorhood, the replacement rate, narcissism, and the curious paradox at the heart of so-called ‘family values’.
Stray thoughts on college football
You didn’t think you’d escape the fall without an essay on college football! Not altogether positive, THE DIVAGATOR explores how money, television, and the universities themselves conspire to ruin the game.
…and, of course, a late look at the mid-term elections.
Stay tuned!
